Professional bass fisherman Brent Chapman of Shawnee, Kan., has joined DiscoverTheOutdoors.com (DTO.com) as the first member of the Internet/e-commerce companys pro staff. The announcement was made just as the rapidly developing, definitive outdoor site prepared to launch its new Fishing portal, and as Chapman was preparing for the BASS Missouri Invitational on Table Rock Lake.
Im really pleased to be associated with an Internet company that is building such a high quality, all-encompassing site on the outdoors, Chapman said, and theyre committed to helping maintain our outdoor heritage by encouraging new hunters and anglers to get involved. I am personally committed to promoting the sport of fishing, and this is an excellent vehicle for connecting with todays youth and anglers in general.
In a professional fishing career that is only seven years old, the 28-year-old Kansas pro has qualified for bass fishings most prestigious tournament, The BASS Masters Classic, three times. He finished among the top 15 in each Classic appearance and has numerous top 10 finishes in various BASS events, including a first-place showing at the 2000 Central Invitational on Louisianas Red River. Chapman has several wins under his belt on the Central Pro-Am tour, and is also a rising star on the FLW and WCF circuits.
DTO.com President Tony Adams is extremely proud to have Chapman on board. DTO.com is all about providing the information, products and services that will enable and encourage people to be active in the outdoors, and Brent is exactly the type of outdoorsman we need as a role model for sportsmen everywhere, he said. He loves and respects the outdoors, enjoys a wide variety of outdoor activities and is committed to passing on the best of our outdoor heritage and ethics to the next generation. On top of that, hes a darn good fisherman. We are really pleased to have Brent as our first member of the DTO Pro Staff.
Chapmans role includes acting as a key consultant for the site on fishing topics, as well as authoring exclusive fishing articles. He will also make a number of appearances on behalf of DTO, including several segments on Heartland Adventures, DTOs outdoor television adventure show hosted by Adams. The professional angler will help promote awareness of DiscoverTheOutdoors.com and its value to outdoor enthusiasts as he travels the fishing circuit, handles speaking engagements and makes other public appearances.
In addition to other sponsorship considerations, DTO will work with Chapman to help build BrentsBassLine.com into a site that helps anglers become better, more knowledgeable fishermen; allows fans to track his tournament standings; encourages participation; and promotes the opportunities and preservation of our fisheries resources.
